When you are pregnant, your body changes to accommodate the fetus and prepare for delivery. These changes might be accompanied by some discomfort. In most cases physical therapy treatment can help significantly reduce your pain and also give guidelines in how to safely exercise to be in the best shape possible during your pregnancy. In addition physical therapy can help you transition back into an exercise program after delivery, and give body mechanics training for childcare to reduce risk of developing low back pain. Women who undergo Cesarean sections have unique problems that can also be addressed with therapy.
